DESCRIPTION:COMPUTEX  is almost here again folks\, and we’re hearing from some long time friends that they will be in town early to catch up with partners and contacts. With this in mind we’re planning to have a TechTaipei meet-up on the Friday before COMPUTEX\, and are announcing it early for the out-of-towners to be able to include the date in their travel plans. \n\n\n\nThis time we’ll be at the Brass Monkey in central Taipei\, so there will be a range of food and drink options for most dietary preferences. They will be offering some specials for TechTaipei members that include extended happy hour prices. DESCRIPTION:What better way to celebrate one of the coolest geeky days of the year than getting together? \n\n\n\nThis time around we’ve decided to stay close to home as a good number of us live around Xindian. So we’ll be kicking it back at the local cove\, the Green Hornet Café (青蜂俠咖啡館) near Bitan just around the corner from Xindian MRT Station.  \n\n\n\nThe owners kindly agreed to offer us  tap beer on happy hour all night @ $120 NTD per pint. For those of us who will need something to eat\, there’s a set menu of burritos and fajita wraps (both with choice of  chicken or beef)\, which will be on offer for $200 instead of the usual $230 / $250 NTD.  Vegetarian orders of burritos or fajita wraps are also available for $50 NTD less. \n\n\n\nWe’ve reserved about 20 seats. The whole place has about 30 chairs altogether\, but  we are used to mingle and stand anyway.  \n\n\n\nIn any case\, other drink pricing tends to be somewhat cheaper than bars in town if preferred (craft beers $180\, most cocktails $200 or less). DESCRIPTION:For various reasons\, most of them related to a certain virus\, we’ve not been able to host as many meetups as we’d liked to this year\, but we’re going to try to squeeze in a couple of more before the end of the year. DESCRIPTION:It’s time for another meetup and hopefully everyone is back from the various trade shows that’s been going on over the past month or so. We’re doing another Wednesday and we understand that maybe not everyone will be able to join\, especially those of you not living in greater Taipei. We hope as many of you as possible can make it of course and we’re aiming for a Friday next time. DESCRIPTION:Happy New Year! To keep the momentum going\, we’ve already planned the first meetup of the new year\, which will be on the 23rd of January at Woolloomooloo Xinyi. This time around we’re doing it on a Wednesday\, as not everyone is able to come out on a Friday. It’s also a little bit later this time\, to give you more  time to get out of the office. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be on the second floor and we’ve been given a large table there\, which should be able to accommodate everyone\, unless we have a much larger crowd turning up compared to last time. Woolloomooloo offers a range of Australian inspired food and stocks a wide verity of beer and wine. DESCRIPTION:Although many of you might be getting ready for Christmas at this time of the year\, we thought it would be a nice time to get together for a pre-holiday meet up\, as it’s been far too long since the last one. We might be doing things under a new name\, but our goal is to bring back the kind of unpretentious gatherings of the past that everyone seems to have enjoyed\, if the feedback we’ve had is anything to go by. \n\n\n\nOur first meetup will be at Baba Kevin’s American Barbecue\, which right now has some Christmas specials in the shape of smoked turkey and smoked ham\, on top of his regular selection of other delectable barbecue items. There’s no minimum spend\, but please try and support our host by at least ordering something.
